Apr. 1st, 2013 07:52 pmMuse and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary this weekend, which was awesome on many levels. For one, I never thought, at the beginning, we'd make it a year, let alone 10. She was the sweet, innocent Mormon still clinging to the idea that she'd have a temple marriage someday, and I was way too jaded and screwed up for my 19 years. Now here we are with a house and a baby, and Muse about to start TTC with number 2. Secondly, we stayed at an awesome bed and breakfast. It was only a couple hours from home, but my parents took the kid, and the b&b was amazing, which is really all we needed. It was a 3 room suite, with a gorgeous 4-poster bed, tv/dvd, fireplace in the bedroom, a table (you could choose your breakfast time, and dine in room if you wanted), second fireplace, and GIGANTIC whirlpool/hot tub in the outer room, and a private bathroom. Plus there was a private porch, beautiful garden with koi pond, and the main kitchen stocked with free beverages, snack foods, and the lady would put fresh baked sweets in there every day. And the food!! Omg. They let you choose from a menu of about 10 items for breakfast. We enjoyed their banana walnut stuffed french bread, spicy breakfast burritos, and these awesome egg and potato pies on English muffins with tomato and spinach. Served every day with fruit bowls, tea and juice. Guh.
The first day we took a nap (moms!) then went out to dinner at an Asian fusion restaurant and went bowling after! We haven't bowled in almost as long as we've been together! I got a strike on the first go. By five turns in, it was all gutters. In the end it evened out. We only paid for an hour, but it was a lot of fun, and felt like much longer. Then we enjoyed the hot tub and cuddled up with Psych.
The second day we got our tattoos!
Mine is the key, hers is the lock. The ivy means "fidelity, friendship, and marriage" and the clover means "be mine." When she proposed, she wrapped the ring box in ivy, and there were clovers in the box.

We had a magnificent dinner with wine flights and amazing desserts, and a bartender who kept giving us freebies, then cuddled with episodes of Justified and went to bed early. Then, because we're super lame, rather than doing any of the things we planned on Sunday, we went home early, because we missed our son. And came back to find my mom had taken him to meet the Easter bunny. I love my dubious-looking boy:
