Yes I'm *that* fan
Mar. 31st, 2011 06:48 amBut the whole "rumour of us"/"room where I'm blessed" thing was sort of harshing my enjoyment of the song, so I went ahead and slowed down the song just to know one way or the other. At -.11 it becomes pretty clear -- it's even clearer the slower it goes, but by -.13 Brendon's voice is so ridiculously deep, I can't take it, lol. Anyway, this clip is only about 7 seconds long--just that part of the song.

So, I'd been singing that anyway, but I'm glad to hear it for sure. Anyway, I'm hoping this will be one of the songs from the album they add on for the tour--in an interview they were asked how much of the new stuff, and they said they'd be adding about three more songs to what they're already doing from it (Nearly Witches, Mona Lisa, Kill Tonight) and in that same interview they were asked what their favourite songs were and Spencer said Hurricane and Brendon said Ready to Go, so I'm guessing those will be two of the three added, and then we can hear Brendon sing the lyrics live, lol.
I'm also pretty sure because it was one of the songs in The Overture, and I've sort of got the feeling those (minus one) are their singles for the album. We already know Ready to Go is the next single. I sort of hope the one that gets left out is Let's Kill Tonight, because it's my least favourite song on the album (that's not saying much, because I still really like it; I just prefer my songs to have more than one unique verse?), but I get the feeling that Nearly Witches isn't going to be a single, just from the sound of it. I love it a lot, but I don't see it getting a lot of radio play like the other four. So. Yeah. *crosses fingers for hurricane to be a single*
Meanwhile, I am in love with the extra tracks. Kaleidoscope Eyes and Turn Off the Lights are amazing in particular, and I'm so sad they didn't make it onto the album. I sort of get that they don't really fit in with the rest of the sound, but I feel that the lyrics of these are a lot more interesting/complex than most of what did make it, and I feel like a lot of the criticism about Brendon's lyrics could have been avoided with more of the bonus content being in the actual record. IDK. I'm obvs not in the music industry, and I'm sure they know better than me. Just sayin' sad I'll never hear these ones live.
ETA: Here's my folder with all six of the bonus tracks for those of you who don't have them yet: http://www.mediafire.com/?veir4i0v5ekst
Thanks to
merelyn for helping me with the ones I didn't have yet!
