Feb. 24th, 2011 07:12 amSo, I just read in Rolling Stones how Santana got married to his drummer, who he proposed to on stage, and since then I've had all these ridiculous scenarios running through my head of Brendon proposing to Spencer on stage, and it makes me so happy. IDK what it is, but I love the fics where they confirm what the fans have only ever dreamed about on stage. I know it'll never happen irl, but it's vicarious fun. Secondly. Dear Jamie Bell, Please be shirtless always, dear fucking god. I went to see The Eagle yesterday because Muse wanted to (on a completely unrelated note, I've developed this weird habit of dropping the definite article in titles recently. I kept just saying "we're seeing Eagle" and last week "we're going to see Rite," and shit like that, IDK. It's confusing and I don't know why I'm doing it). I basically went because she wanted to, and because I thought "hey, sexy sweaty boys in a vaguely homoerotic situation, I can sit through this." To defend Muse, she really only wanted to see it for the lulz. She loves horrible movies for the schadenfreude.
Anyway, it turned out to be a lot better than either of us expected, though still not a great movie. However, I felt very satisfied after watching it. The romance between Marcus and Esca (because that's what it was. I feel 100% okay calling it that because Jamie Bell played Esca like a man in love, and also I'm positive the director was saying "yeah, we can't have 'em kiss because that will totally limit our audience, but these boys are lovers") was touching and at times visceral, and there wasn't nearly as much homoerotic tension as I'd anticipated because it was totally sublimated by the obvious love and affection between them, if that makes sense. I mean, it was still gay, there just wasn't any tension and that was okay. I was excited to later discover that it was based off a book, which I need to hunt down.
I am more annoyed now with the MCR pre-order. So I got the gun/mask combo I didn't want. Okay, I can deal. But photobook is just stills from the music video and they're pretty, but I'm like "seriously, guys? Anyone could see these." I feel like it should be something a bit more interesting or unique or exclusive. Still, I was mostly happy because I absolutely adored the bad luck bead bracelet. Until I wore it for a single fucking day and over half the images on it wore off in that time. I'm so disappointed because some of the unique images are entirely gone, and I really fucking liked that bracelet. I was using it to console myself over the disappointment in the rest of the goddamn kit, and now I can't even do that any more.
I just hope the Panic! kit makes up for it. Though I'm not too concerned, because I have the limited edition Panic! sets of the first two albums, and they're both amazing, so I don't think this one should be any different. I'm so excited about adding my Vices and Virtues box alongside the Fever box and the Pretty. Odd. book/album thingie. I have never taken the puzzle out b/c I'm worried it wouldn't stay in its frame, but I like to flip through the lyric/picture flaps quite often, and I eventually want to get the Fever tarot cards framed in one of those giant frames that has all the small frames with a larger centre frame for the painting of the band as the circus. Someday I'll have a Panic! wall, lol, when we have room for our piano and can get it off my sister.
Oh, and the Elf!Frank/Gerard fic just keeps getting longer. WHY? And now I'm considering doing my Killjoy verse fic for BBB, so there'll be more Frank/Gee...although I'm considering MCR GSF or Frank/Mikey/Gee for that one (because if I do GSF, I really need to get to know Ray better before I attempt it, and I'd be so, so tempted to find a way to include Bob in it).
ETA: this is for the elf fic. I've only ever seen Gerard do stagegay with Frank and Mikey, but that could just be because I'm not looking in the right place. Has he ever done any with Ray?
