Look, I've definitely hoped for the day when My Chem or Panic! might follow in the footsteps of Green Day and make a musical, but I cannot *believe* the utter gall of these assholes who've decided to take it upon themselves to use their songs and try to get it on broadway without the involvement or even the permission of the band in question. It's disgusting, and I hope they get their pants sued off them.

It's sort of unbelievable. I feel like the fact that as fandom works harder to make transformative works safe from legal action, fans are getting the (very wrong) idea that they can use whatever the hell they want :/

I knew about the musical. I knew that the band wasn't directly involved. I didn't know that she hadn't bothered to get god damned permission/copyrights before she went forward with it. That is so severely not okay, and sours the whole damned thing. >.

I hadn't even heard of it until I saw this article, so I was immediately pissed off. I'd LOVE a musical with Panic! songs so hard, but there's no way I'd support this, and it makes me worry that if they mess this up, then there will never BE a Panic! musical.
